This short brief presents summary recommendations to Global Affairs Canada about how it can deepen the vision laid out in its Feminist International Assistance Policy (FIAP) and become a more fully feminist donor.
The brief, which was submitted to Minister of International Development in December 2020, follows up on a report co-published in July 2020 by the Women's Rights Policy Group (including Inter Pares) and Cooperation Canada. The report was the result of a survey aimed at gathering the sector’s experiences with applying for the first wave of Women's Voice and Leadership (WVL) - FIAP's flagship program. The report's observations and recommendations go beyond WVL, however, and aimed to help GAC accomplish its goal of becoming a more feminist funder.
