Amani joined Inter Pares as Program Manager (Africa/Asia) in August 2021, focusing particularly on women's political participation and SRHR.

As a researcher and organizer, she has over a decade of experience working on human rights issues, including mining and energy industries, Indigenous rights, agriculture and food sovereignty, climate justice, and protection of human rights defenders.

Her research work has ranged from smallholder agricultural production in East Africa, to Indigenous rights and title in relation to extractive industries.

She has a BA in English literature and political science (McGill) and an MA in International Development (Saint Mary's).

Amani grew up in Kenya, and has worked internationally, including in southern Tanzania.
