Lorraine joined the Inter Pares communications team in July 2019, shifting to the fundraising program in July 2020. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in international relations and French and a Master’s degree in applied linguistics, both from the University of Toronto.

Lorraine began her professional path in Toronto’s non-profit sector, at a Francophone organization responding to violence against women and serving employment-seeking and newcomer women. She developed a special interest in migration, going on to work directly with newcomers to Canada and in sector capacity building. Before settling in Ottawa in 2018, she spent several years in Kingston, working in communications at a community health centre and teaching at the post-secondary level. Volunteer pursuits over the years include literacy tutoring, mental health support, refugee sponsorship and serving on community boards.

Lorraine is deeply aligned with Inter Pares’ belief in the equality of all people, and with its co-management structure. She has a special interest in Latin America and is fluent in Spanish, French and English.
