Our Work: By region Latin America About this region Latin America’s structural problems persist and democracy is not working effectively enough to resolve them. In post-conflict countries, peace processes addressed neither the root causes nor many of the effects of the conflicts, such as economic exclusion and impunity. Meanwhile, a new citizenship is emerging; people are claiming their rights and demanding a say in the governance of their nations. Our Work on this region We work with national organizations in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Peru and Colombia to support people regaining control of their resources, assert the political participation of women and indigenous peoples, challenge economic exclusion and the impunity of the powerful, and build democratic and authentic peace.
