Our Work: By issue Migration About this issue The history of humankind is the history of migration. Many people on the move are refugees or internally displaced, dislocated by war and violence. Others are displaced by the collapse of local economies and forced to move to urban centres or across borders in search of livelihoods. It’s urgent to build social solidarity with all migrants and create a civic responsibility to promote their rights. Our Work on this issue Inter Pares works with our counterparts in Canada and internationally to promote the human rights of refugees, internally displaced people, migrant workers, and cross-border migrants. We promote freedom of movement, the right to resist coercive relocation, and the right of people to return safely to their homes.
