Please join us for a roundtable panel on the carceral response to gender-based violence in the Americas, focused on cases from Canada, Colombia and El Salvador.
The rise of punitive approaches and the increased criminalization of women and gender-diverse people form part of the broader pattern of democratic backsliding in the region. The panelists will share strategies that centre survivor-led, community-based approaches to justice, grounded in prevention, healing, accountability and collective care.
They will also present their ongoing advocacy efforts with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, as a mechanism, to advance feminist approaches to justice and accountability across the region.
This event is in person and space is very limited. Please register to secure a spot.
