Celebrating 50 years of working in solidarity for social justice news : March 07, 2025 Share Print For 50 years, Inter Pares has worked with grassroots activists and organizations, building relationships based on mutual respect and a shared commitment to social justice, to create a more just, equal world. We believe that true change happens when we work together as equals. From the very beginning, we have embraced solidarity as an approach to international cooperation. We collaborate with local organizations and activists to strengthen their efforts, while learning from their expertise. We address the root causes of injustice and inequality. Our work goes beyond immediate relief, tackling the systems and structures that perpetuate injustices. Together with our counterparts, we challenge these systems and create lasting, meaningful change in communities across Canada and around the world. As an intersectional feminist organization, we believe in supporting women’s leadership and promoting gender justice, while also advocating for LGBTQI+ rights and building solidarity across borders. Our donors, allies and supporters have been—and continue to be—key to this journey. For the past 50 years, our community has supported our counterparts to implement long-term projects, maintain critical programs and plan for the future. They support feminist movements tackling the root causes of impoverishment and inequality. Together, we’re creating a more just and equal world. Reflecting on 50 years As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we invite you to reflect on our journey thus far, how we have evolved as an organization and the ongoing struggles for justice that call us to act. Below you will find key moments, long-term partnerships and lessons we’ve learned along the way—experiences that shape who we are today and will guide us into the future. Articles will be published throughout the year. We are grateful for the relationships, struggles and victories we have shared with our counterparts and supporters. But we know that the work is far from over. In the next 50 years and beyond, we will continue to work with communities to address injustice, inequality and oppression—together with you. Inter Pares exists because of supporters like you. Will you make a special gift today to sustain social justice now, and for the years to come? 50th anniversary donate button Add new comment You must have JavaScript enabled to use this form.
