La Ligue helped create key human rights instruments such as the Charte des droits et libertés de la personne and institutions like the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse. The organization contributes to keeping human rights issues in public debates, minimizing setbacks to the human rights agenda, and mobilizing social movements in defense of human rights issues.
