Leaving a gift in your will to Inter Pares can be a powerful expression of your values and principles, and enables you to leave a lasting legacy – your commitment to social justice action.
A gift in your will of any size can have a significant impact on the long-term sustainability of Inter Pares’ work.
Margaret Fleming McKay began supporting Pares in 1987, in large part because of her concern for the status of women globally. She told us: "I've always been interested in the fact that women did most of the work in the Third World, and that their lives were so difficult."
When Margaret passed away in 2005, she left Inter Pares a gift in her will, which carries forward part of her legacy.
Over the years, Inter Pares has been honoured to receive gifts from people who, like Margaret, wish to extend their commitment to creating a just world for future generations.
The Margaret Fleming McKay Legacy Fund enables Inter Pares to continue our long-term programs and relationships with counterparts around the world. This Fund contributes to institutional sustainability by strengthening and sustaining organizations when sources of funding for social justice work are uncertain.
Legacy gifts can take a few different forms, such as:
