Join the Feminist Party this International Women's Day event : Share Print Celebrate International Women's Day in Ottawa by joining the Feminist Party! Agenda Doors open at 6pm Opening Ceremony / Femmy Awards / Performance start at 7 pm Activist fair and dance party to follow The Femmy Awards are intended to honour people located in the National Capital Region who have made outstanding contributions to the struggle for women’s equality. A mock political leader’s debate moderated by Amal Wahab of LIVE 885 radio station. Free child care available on site. Enjoy tunes from DJ Jas Na$ty, a cash bar and some free snacks! International Women's Day Ottawa is organizing this event. Its members are Amnesty International, Canadian Federation of University Women, Inter Pares, Ottawa Coalition to End Violence Against Women, Oxfam Canada, Planned Parenthood Ottawa, and the Human Rights Research and Education Centre at the University of Ottawa – as well independent volunteers. Accessibility notesThe Library & Archives is an accessible venue with accessible washrooms. There is an access ramp in the front and automatic door openers in all areas open to the public. Two elevators providing access to all areas are open to the public. Evacuation chairs which are designed for people with disabilities and allow them, with the help of staff, to use the stairs in an emergency are available, as are wheelchair accessible pay phones on the ground, second and third floors.
