Inter Pares engages with the Canadian government's development policy review news : Insight & Analysis August 03, 2016 Share Print Karen refugees from Burma play an active role in managing their own camps. Credit: Kevin Malseed Between May and July 2016, Global Affairs Canada conducted an extensive review of its development policies, known as the International Assistance Review (IAR). The review was an opportunity for civil society organizations and for Canadians to offer their views on how Canada can take action on poverty and inequality abroad. Inter Pares took part in, or contributed to, 11 consultations related to the IAR. Additionally, we contributed to several briefs by coalitions that we are members of: Canadian Council for International Cooperation (CCIC), Americas Policy Group (APG), Food Security Policy Group (FSPG), Canadian Network on Corporate Accountability (CNCA) and the Women, Peace and Security Network (WPSN). Inter Pares also co-organized consultations on sexual and reproductive health and rights and a feminist approach to international assistance, both of which led to written submissions which we endorsed (former) and authored (latter). Inter Pares endorses the recommendations made in all of these briefs to the IAR. This 55-page document gathers together the analysis and recommendations under the five themes of the International Assistance Review, as well as an annex which offers an example of our feminist programming methodology. Inter Pares' submission to Canada’s International Assistance Review Inter Pares also created a number of shorter documents focusing on the IAR's themes of interest: Add new comment You must have JavaScript enabled to use this form.
