Making food an election issue

In the lead-up to the 2019 federal election, Food Secure Canada has relaunched Eat Think Vote, a national non-partisan campaign that gathers community members across Canada to chat with federal candidates about food issues.

Eat Think Vote aims to ensure the federal government develops food policy that encourages a food system where no one goes hungry, where food is healthy and respects the environment. Events will be held across the country in community spaces in the coming weeks. Click here to see upcoming events.

Eat Think Vote was first launched ahead of the 2015 federal election. Events across the country brought together over 4,400 individuals and 164 candidates to discuss food issues affecting their communities. The campaign was a success, and ultimately contributed to the creation of Canada’s first national food policy.
