Ibrahim Ouedraogo, notre phare dans la nuit news : April 21, 2020 Share Print Ibrahim Ouedraogo during a visit to Canada in 2008. Inter Pares pleure la mort d’Ibrahim Ouedraogo, géant de l’agroécologie et de la lutte pour la souveraineté alimentaire en Afrique. Expert en systèmes agricoles durables et en développement rural, Ibrahim a prêté main forte à plusieurs organisations d’envergure : Secrétaire général d’Inades-Formation International, co-fondateur de la Coalition pour la protection du patrimoine génétique africain (COPAGEN) et membre de plusieurs conseils d’administration dont ACORD et ENDA Pronat au Sénégal. Il a également aidé à mettre sur pied le Comité de réflexion et d’action sur le foncier du Sénégal (CRAFS) une plateforme qui a aidé à freiner le phénomène des accaparements au Sénégal. Originaire du Burkina Faso, il ne manquait pas d’occasions pour louanger le travail et les connaissances paysannes – qui ont su s’adapter au climat, produire et nourrir leur communauté tout en préservant les sols et la santé et la biodiversité. Il s’est mesuré aux puissants lobbys d’OGM et leurs efforts d’introduire une agriculture polluante et asservissante en Afrique. Ibrahim s’est dévoué à partager ses connaissances et les mettre au service du bien commun. Pour celles et ceux qui le connaissaient bien, nous nous souviendrons d’un militant redoutable, mais aussi d’un rassembleur, et d’un camarade qui aimait rire, d’une personne pleine de savoirs, qui les transmettait en toute humilité.
