Making a gift in your will April 23, 2013 Share Print Credit: Inter Pares A gift in your will is a significant expression of hope for the future and an expression of solidarity with people, families, and communities around the world. Thank you for your commitment to the work of Inter Pares and to our counterparts in Canada and around the world. We invite you to consider leaving a gift to Inter Pares in your will. Often our first thought about our legacy is for our family – helping them to live joyful, healthy, and secure lives once we are gone. Your legacy can also provide resources that contribute to building a more just and equal future globally. Inter Pares is honoured that many of our donors have trusted us to steward their resources after their lifetime to support social justice for generations to come. With this support, and in collaboration with our counterparts, we strengthen efforts to create meaningful progressive change in communities in Canada and around the world. Our individual roles in the process of change are not always visible, but they are all significant. How to leave a gift in your will to Inter Pares A gift in your will can take a few different forms, based on your wishes. A bequest can be: A percentage of your estate The remainder of your estate after the payment of specific amounts to others A stated dollar amount A gift in your will of any size can have a significant impact on the long-term sustainability of Inter Pares’ work. Margaret began supporting Pares in 1987 because of her concern for the status of women globally. She told us: "I've always been interested in the fact that women did most of the work in the Third World, and that their lives were so difficult." When Margaret passed away in 2005, she left Inter Pares a gift in her will, which carries forward part of her legacy. Over the years, Inter Pares has been honoured to receive gifts from people who, like Margaret, wish to extend their commitment to creating a just world for future generations.
