Rita Morbia people Share Print Rita obtained her B.Sc. in ecology from McGill University, and her M.Sc. from the University of Windsor. In between degrees, she taught science and math for two years in Swaziland. In the late ‘90s, Rita joined the environmental movement in Canada and for several years worked at the Sierra Club of Canada. Rita Morbia first joined Inter Pares in 2001 as a Program Manager and spent five years managing Inter Pares’ extensive Burma program. Rita currently has program responsibilities in the Philippines and Sudan in the area of women’s rights and reproductive health. She also serves as the Treasurer of the Canadian Health Coalition, an organization dedicated to protecting and expanding Canada’s public health care system. From 2010 to 2014, Rita was a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Council for International Cooperation. Rita served in the role of Executive Director of Inter Pares from 2009 to 2017. She and Kathryn Dingle was Co-Executive Directors from October 2017 to November 2020.
