Join Inter Pares at the World Social Forum! event : Convention Share Print From August 9th to 14th, the World Social Forum (WSF) is coming to a Northern country for the first time since its inception in 2001, in Brazil. Don't miss this opportunity to participate in the world's largest gathering of social movements. Between 50 000 and 80 000 activists from civil society groups, organizations, and social movements from all over the world are expected to attend, including many of Inter Pares’ international and national counterparts such as Focus on the Global South, COPAGEN, INADES Formation, CBAN, L'Entraide missionaire, and AQOCI. The WSF will be an unparallelled opportunity to meet and learn from people from all around the world who are at the forefront of social change – not only for activists, but also for anyone who is interested in learning and engaging in different social issues. Inter Pares has been active within the WSF’s International Solidarity Committee, as well as working with other organizations to develop sessions on non-hierarchical management, building horizontality in North-South relationships, the worldwide impact of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and mobilizing against corporate control of land, food, and seeds. Our long-time counterpart Focus on the Global South is also holding a session on the dangerous implications of international investment treaties and Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) for Southern countries. You can register online on the World Social Forum website. See you in Montreal in August!
