Salmmah Women’s Resource Centre counterpart Share Print Salmmah Women’s Resource Centre was founded in 1997 and was an independent feminist resource centre, which provided women and men with information on feminism, violence against women, and sexuality. Its main focus was mobilizing and empowering women and women’s groups in order to influence policy and overcome structural, political and legal obstacles to the achievement of women’s rights. The centre had a leading role in the research, documentation and dissemination of knowledge on women’s rights and human rights in Sudan. Its approach is collaborative, working in alliance with other civil society organizations as appropriate. Salmmah’s youth program focuses on building capacity in Sudan’s younger generation. In the wake of Salmmah's closure, many youth participants contributed to founding SWRC.
