Fernande Abanda

Fernande has been working for the recognition of the rights of marginalized groups – specifically women and Indigenous peoples – for more than 15 years. Her work focuses on the recognition of rights in natural resource management and the decolonization of management and governance practices.

Fernande has held positions at research centres in Canada and Cameroon, been an expert for several international development organizations, and been a lecturer in Master's programs in sustainable management of forest ecosystems (UQO/UQAM/UQAT) and in human rights (Catholic University of Central Africa).

Fernande is an activist in the fight against racism in Canada.
