The Canadian Health Coalition (CHC) has dedicated itself since 1979 to preserving and enhancing Canada's public health system. Comprised of groups across Canada representing unions, churches, seniors, women, students, consumers, and health care professionals, the Coalition's focus is to advocate for the implementation of Tommy Douglas’ expansive vision for Canada’s healthcare system.
The CHC plays a key role in analyzing healthcare policy in Canada, in bringing together diverse actors across the country who believe in its mandate and in educating and mobilizing Canadians including decision-makers. The CHC tackles important issues such as national Pharmacare, seniors’ care, privatization, the national health accord, deregulation and healthcare financing.
