Our Work: By issue
Food & Climate Justice
About this issue
Food sovereignty transforms the food system to one that is ecological, fair, and where people have decision making power. Food sovereignty promotes food security, encourages biological diversity, and mitigates climate change. We believe food sovereignty addresses the challenges presented by the agro-industrial model of food production and neoliberal economic policies.
Our Work on this issue
Inter Pares collaborates with farmers' movements, including women farmers, around the globe to build a more just food system. We work with groups that practice agroecology and strive for food sovereignty. We support farmers' struggle for land and seed diversity, and to protect agricultural biodiversity. We connect farmers to each other to enable a sharing of skills and solutions.
