Our Work: By issue Gender Justice & Women's Rights About this issue Gender justice and women's rights are overarching goals, embedded within all of Inter Pares’ work and political analysis. Although individuals are the agents, the root of violence is a social order that devalues women. Forms of oppression against women include physical and sexual violence, political exclusion, denial of educational opportunities and economic marginalization. Our Work on this issue Inter Pares engages in the struggle to create conditions under which women can exercise their autonomy and freedom: to choose their livelihoods; to exercise their political agency; and to control their own futures free from coercion. In our work on violence against women, women’s health, and women’s rights, we aim to address the root causes of violence against women and its consequences.
